Sports Betting ODDSJAM

We’ve done a lot in the States, but there's a big opportunity internationally thanks to the nature of sports betting markets. Think of sports betting as completely different from the stock market. Apple is $160 a share no matter where you go, but the nature of sports betting requires each book to be balancing the action on both sides of the market.

what's your vision going forward?

Te company's been around since 2021 with the first subscriber in April of that year, so it's almost three years old. Our vision is simply to accelerate our mission to bring in the best tools and educational content to sports bettors around the world.

We recognise that we've got a great leg up and have done a lot in the States, but there's a big opportunity internationally thanks to the nature of sports betting markets. Tink of sports betting as completely different from the stock market.

Apple is $160 a share no matter where you go, but the nature of sports betting requires each book to be balancing the action on both sides of the market so that's always going to lead to inefficiencies.

What odds comparison and betting tools does the company offer? What markets are covered, and which are most popular?

Well, we have a strong suite of tools and popularity does depend where you are. One market that has a massive following across the States is player prop markets. Te Daily Fantasy boom of PrizePicks and Underdog, or I should say fantasy pick’em products like those, has driven this passion and they're open to people who are under 21 years of age.

However, they're typically like lottery tickets based around sports. You can basically bet $5, and you get a 6x or 10x payout depending on how you bet it. It's basically a blend of a lottery and sports betting. But what those fantasy sites must do is basically have lines around LeBron points at 35.5, for example, as a "niche" player prop market that can end up way off from where the sharpest sportsbooks are.

Our main focus is the customer and equipping them with tools to find bets, so we've invested in products like our Fantasy Optimizer.

How does the revenue model work?

It's a direct consumer subscription where consumers pay anywhere from $50 to $700 a month to access different levels of our tools. We do have great affiliate partnerships with sportsbooks, but we don't do any revenue shares because it's antithetical to the business model.

So, if you're on a lower subscription you get access to a certain level of tools, and as the subscription increases, you get access to better or more tools?

Exactly. Tink of it like silver, gold, platinum. Te silver package is $50 a month, the gold is $200, the platinum package is $700 which is designed for somebody who's really interested in going deep into data.

Who would you say is Oddjam's typical subscriber?

We have an eclectic user base that has been drafted from all walks of life.Te stories that I could tell you if we have more time. We have a former corrections officer at a minimum- security female prison who quit his job to bet on sports full time.

We have a girl named Marie whose story is posted on her Twitter that bets whilst she's waiting in line at Starbucks and considers this her side hustle. It's funny because we think a lot about the concept of rewiring the minds of sports bettors in the US and these are case in point.

Not only do we reach sports bettors and that's our primary market in the US, but we also educate them by basically converting them from thinking "who do I bet on in this game?" to "what value is there in this market and let me go and bet that".

With the influx of advertising dollars that have gone into the sports betting and iGaming industry in the US, what would you say makes an effective campaign for OddsJam to stand out from the crowd?

Te most effective thing we've seen on social is just talking about winning. One of our tools is an Arbitrage Betting Tool that allows you to find risk-free profits across different sportsbooks which is something that's really resonated with people to get started and build their bankroll before they dip into Positive EV - our most popular tool.

We like to say Arbitrage is taking advantage of an inefficiency on two sportsbooks and Positive EV is taking advantage of an inefficiency on one sportsbook. It’s clear from our socials that these kinds of things have been effective in helping OddsJam stand out.

What's next in the expansion of OddsJam?

We're looking at a lot of new markets and would like to add five more people to the team this year. We're looking for people who are passionate about what we're doing at OddsJam.

What we've learned in the three years of the business is that people who are passionate about betting typically aren't the best employees to put it bluntly.

If you're just focused on finding value and all you care about is betting, you're not going to be very good at building a company. But if you care about the mission that we're on to bring the best data and educational content to sports bettors around the world, then you're far more likely to be a better employee.
