Colombia – Coljuegos signs pact in Tolima The president of Coljuegos, Marco Emilio Hincapié, the manager of the Tolima Lottery, Alexander Castro; the manager of Gana Gana, Alejandro Tamayo; and representatives from various entities, signed the Grand Pact for Legality and Transparency in Colombia. The objective is to raise awareness about the importance of legal gaming in Tolima.
To promote the campaign for legalisation, actions will be taken throughout the department and in the capital, through the Tour de los Ganadores (Winners’ Tour) an event that will visit a municipality of Tolima and a neighbourhood in Ibagué once a month. This activity will also include games of chance and aims to raise awareness among citizens about betting or operating legally.
Coljuegos has signed a number of similar pacts with local governments since 2017. The Pact for Legality of the Gambling Sector is a strategy with which Coljuegos aims to combat illegal gaming and raise funds for the health sector and the first one was signed in 2017. Typically, the implementation of the pact is followed by closer coordination with the police, the prosecutor’s office as well as the municipal and departmental governments.
Brazil - GLI first to achieve accreditation Gaming Laboratories International (GLI) has become the first laboratory to achieve accreditation to certify for betting systems, live game studios, and online games to be used by fixed-odds lottery operators by the Secretaria De Prêmios e Apostas (SPA) in Brazil
The accreditation means GLI is authorised to test and certify equipment, programs, instruments, and devices that comprise betting systems, live game studios, and online games to be used by fixed-odds lottery operators for the recently enacted national regulatory regime of Brazil. In February, GLI became the first lab to achieve accreditation to test online gaming, wagering, and retail sports betting in Peru.

In a speech in the Senate Plenary, Senator Romário announced that he will begin collecting signatures to open a parliamentary inquiry commission (CPI) with the aim of investigating the alleged manipulation of football match results in Brazil.
According to the senator, the creation of the CPI is necessary in light of the emergence of numerous allegations about the practice. Romário highlighted that after the scandal of alleged player recruitment in the state of Goiás, investigated by the Public Prosecutor's Office, new facts have come to light.Te senator highlighted a report from Sportradar, which points to 109 matches suspected of manipulation in Brazil only last year.
"Tis places us as the country with the highest number of matches analysed under these circumstances. After years of a completely unregulated market and due to the enormous amount of money that the sector moves, we can no longer turn a blind eye to what is happening
to the integrity of our sport, which is the number one and most popular sport on the planet, the passion of everyone, not just Brazilians," he said.
Te senator emphasised that the betting market in the country lacks regulation and "we can no longer turn a blind eye" to the situation that affects the integrity of the sport. He requested support from his fellow senators to open the CPI.
According to the report published by Sportradar Integrity Services, there was a notable decline in suspicious matches detected in Brazil (-44) compared to 2022, although it still retained the top spot globally. During the year, Sportradar monitored 118 soccer competitions, overseeing approximately 9,000 matches. 109 matches were marked as suspicious.
Tere was a 29 per cent reduction in the total number of suspicious events in Brazil from 2022 to 2023, marking the first decline since 2020.
Chile SJC concludes bidding for two casino licences
Te Superintendence of Casinos of Chile (SCJ) has announced that the stage of submitting technical and economic bids for the granting of licenses for a casino in Castro and another licence in the city Coyhaique has concluded.
Castro is located on Chiloé Island in the Los Lagos Region of southern Chile and is the capital city of the Chiloé Province. Meanwhile the city of Coyhaique, is the capital of the Aysén Region and is located further south in Chilean Patagonia.
Te licensing process for the two casino licences was launched in September 2023. Te SCJ reported that in the presentation hearing for technical and economic bids held last Friday (March 22), three projects were put forward.
Rantrur S.A. (Enjoy S.A.) and Inversiones y Turismo Chiloé (Dreams S.A.) both put forward offers for the casino licence in Castro. Currently, Enjoy operates a
hotel and a casino in the city of Castro, which features 19 gaming tables, 72 bingo positions, and 230 slot machines.
Additionally, it includes a convention centre, a cinema, restaurants, bars, and an art gallery. Te current permit held by Enjoy expires in 2027. Earlier in the month, Enjoy announced that it is receiving offers for its assets, both in Chile and in Uruguay according to a communication sent to Chile’s Financial Market Commission.
To compete for the licence in Castro, its competitor Dreams created the company, Inversiones y Turismo Chiloé S.A. Dreams is also aiming to renew the operating licence of its casino in the city of Coyhaique, in the Aysén region.
Te casino has 11 gaming tables, 38 bingo positions, and 383 slot machines, as well as a restaurant, a bar, and three event rooms. Its licence will also expire in 2027.
