The CT4422, fused probe DMM electrical kit includes: fused probes (black and red); fully insu- lated CAT IV alligator clips (black and red); and silicone jacketed, straight to right-angle, 0.2 in. (4 mm) sheathed banana plug test leads (black and red).

The probes’ small, compact bodies fea- ture an internal, 1,000V, 500 mA, fast-acting, ceramic fuse, which can cut power in the event of a transient over-voltage, protecting both equipment, and more impor- tantly, personnel working in high energy environments. The closer the fuse is to the test point the higher the level of protection. The fused probe is rated


1,000V CAT III/600V CAT IV and features a unique locking tip cover. With this cover in place only 0.2 in. (4 mm) of the tip is exposed, reducing short circuits and arc-flash risks while work- ing in high category environ- ments. Removing the tip cover limits the probe to 1,000V CAT II. The locking tip covers require a tool, such as a small screwdriv- er, to remove. The internal 500 mA fuse is easily replaced by
