BSU Installs Nikon X-Ray CT

Inspection System

AUSTIN, TX — BSU has updat- ed its high-performance X-ray in- spection capability with the in- stallation of a Nikon XT V series X-ray CT inspection system. In addition to inspecting many areas of SMT/PCB assemblies that are generally inaccessible to visual inspection, the new X-ray system will be used to inspect BGA, leadless, and connector components to identify defects. The advanced X-ray system

is equipped with five-axis part manipulation, which allows the user to examine a component or solder connection from several angles. It also allows viewing of internal connections of molded devices or modules.

The Nikon XT V series sys-

tems are designed to be intuitive to use and include industry-lead- ing software to maximize pro- ductivity for all operators, with minimal need for training. Auto- mated modes allow inspection of samples at high throughput rates, with simple and clear

pass/fail reporting. Contact: BSU, Inc., 1611
