ployees with disabilities is vital,” says Dawn Horwath, rehabilitation services director at PRIDE. “The mental health component asso- ciated with offering a socially distanced out- door experience has proven to be invaluable. The feedback we have received from our em- ployees with disabilities, their caregivers and families has been universally and over- whelmingly positive.”


Ride with PRIDE Despite being able to work,


many individuals with disabili- ties lack a driver’s license, access to a vehicle or reliable public transportation, which makes holding many types of jobs impos- sible.


PRIDE Industries operates a


fleet of 60 vehicles, which prior to the pandemic, covered more than 90 routes per day, providing tens of thousands of rides per month to individuals who work at PRIDE or at other businesses in certain parts of northern Califor- nia.


Even though many of its em-


ployees with disabilities are not currently able to come into work, PRIDE Industries values them and understands that they are an important part of the company. Likewise, the employees un-


derstand that PRIDE respects them and their contributions, even if they are different during the pandemic. Every employee al- so understands that the compa- ny’s customers come to PRIDE for results. Each company measures
