Seica Launches Mini Flying Probe Fixture

HAVERHILL, MA — Seica has introduced its FlyPOD, an op- tional mini fixture that can be in- stalled directly on one of its fly- ing probes. The FlyPOD allows customers to connect multiple hardware resources to the mini fixture, particularly for onboard programming, boundary scan or as a communications interface. The fixture can be installed

on Seica’s PILOT NEXT> series of flying probe systems and integrat- ed easily into high-volume auto- mated production lines. Two Fly- POD heads can be installed on the same system for multiple uses. The fixture has a minimum step of 0.05 in. (1.27 mm) and a 5 x 5 grid.

The maximum number of

contacts available is 14 and the device under test should provide terminations for the test points. Plug-and-play, the mini fixture will be manufactured according to the customer’s configuration. Benefits include fast and reli-

able programming, optimization of programming speed, the option to double up the FlyPOD heads for parallel programming, integrated software management through Seica’s VIVA software. Also, the system can provide dynamic scripts of board serial numbers, automatic selection of the release,

verification of programming and reporting, and the possibility of adding programming-related functional tests.
