1. Commonly confused words Read the meaning and example of the word in the Word 1 column and then read the meaning and example of the word in the Word 2 column.

1. a pedal for stopping a vehicle (noun): He hit the brakes. 2. to stop a vehicle (verb): She had to brake hard to avoid an accident.
cereal
a breakfast food made from grains: I eat a bowl of cereal every morning.
chord
a group of musical notes: Mike taught me a new chord on the guitar.

1. to separate into pieces (verb): Sticks and stones may break my bones. 2. a pause (noun): I need a break from school.
serial
Story that happens in regular instalments: My mum hates missing any episode from her favourite serial on TV.
cord
a piece of string: The parcel was tied with cord.
