2. Write a critical analysis of the poster for the film, ‘The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas’. In it you should consider: (a) The visual impact of the poster. (b) Whether or not the poster makes you want to see the film.
3. Having read both the book and film reviews, suggest a different design for a poster for the film. In it you should concentrate on the illustration, wording of any accompanying text and the use of colour and light to capture mood.
4. Blogs
A blog is a regularly updated personal website or online diary on which you can record your
opinions, offer information, display
photographs, video clips or other visual material and offer links to other sites etc. Te purpose of a blog depends on the kind of blog it is, e.g. a travel blog, a film review blog, a cookery blog, a personal diary concerning some major event etc. You need to be able to write and structure your blog in a way that makes it accessible and relevant to your readers.
Blog structure:
l Blog entries are posted in reverse-chronological order, running from the most recent to the least recent. Te date and the time posted are included with the name of the blogger. Alternatively, the blogger might end the post with ‘Posted by [blogger’s name]’.
l Create a title that will appeal to your reader. Te title helps your reader decide if the blog is something they are interested in. Remember that your readers are really anyone interested in your topic.
l Write the main point in the opening paragraph. Tis gives a sharp focus to your blog and encourages the reader to continue reading.
l You can elaborate in the other paragraphs of your post. l Readers and the blogger can usually comment on (or reply to) a blog entry. Te comments can turn into a dialogue, with the readers and blogger talking together.
