3. Writing a Dialogue based on an Image You may be required to write a short dialogue based on an image. Tis should be written as a script.
Guidelines for writing a script based on an image:
l Give names or some form of identity to the people, animals or objects which are supposedly having the dialogue.
l Arrange the script by putting the name of each speaker in the leſt hand margin and writing a colon (:) aſter each speaker’s name.
l Keep the characters’ lines of dialogue short. Do not write large chunks of dialogue. l Conversational tone is appropriate and you may use contractions e.g. ‘I’m’ instead of ‘I am’. l Create as much interest as you can in the conversation, making each comment meaningful and moving the dialogue forward.

l Do not insert unnecessary comments e.g. ‘Good Morning. How are you?’, ‘I’m fine. How are you?’ etc. Tis makes for a very boring script. Be creative and original.
