3. Answering on Studied Fiction l Te questions in this section will allow you to show your knowledge of and response to the novels or short stories studied during your Junior Cycle.
l Revise the Key Skills For Answering on Fiction, which are listed on page 93.
l Make sure that you can discuss the characters, setting, plot, themes and style of your chosen texts. Be able to demonstrate the part played by each of these elements in the narrative.
Advice
l Prepare your novel or short stories well in advance. Pay particular attention to key chapters or sections of the narratives. Tis will put you in a strong position to answer well in the exam.
l Practise writing answers following the P.Q.E. method where suitable. As you improve with practice, you will find that you can think, plan and write quickly.
l Keep strictly within the time-limits. If you find that you simply cannot write the same length as the samples provided in this section, shorten your quotes and explanations.
