48 Ground-breaking Furniture Range for Super-sterile Environments

Hygienox from Teknomek brings together furniture and equipment specially designed for ultra-sterile manufacturing spaces where ISO 14644 is front of mind. All products in the range have been specified to support environments where effective particle management and contamination control is critical, supporting efficient risk management.

With a thorough understanding of the rigorous cleaning processes involved in ultra-sterile environments, the Hygienox range of furniture is designed to be futureproof. Harsh sterilisation methods have become standard in pharmaceutical and micro-biological manufacturing environments, so Hygienox products have a range of intelligent design and specification features to mitigate the risk of rouging or tiger stripes while reducing contamination risk and supporting improved clean down productivity.

“Harsh cleaning chemicals such as chlorine and hydrogen peroxide can reduce the lifespan of furniture built from 304-grade stainless steel,” said Sue Springett, Commercial Manager at Teknomek. “Hygienox furniture is manufactured from 316-grade stainless steel because it is more robust against pitting and crevice corrosion by chemicals.”

In addition, the stainless steel used in Hygienox furniture has a 0.3 Ra finish so is ultra-smooth. Chemicals can pool on coarser surfaces if not thoroughly removed with IPA wipes and, over time, the trace amounts of these chemicals will corrode, stain and contaminate the passive layer of the stainless steel.

Major investment in research, development and design has gone into all products in the new Hygienox, from Teknomek range. For example, because off-the-shelf solutions available were not up to the meticulous Hygienox standards, castors have been specially commissioned to include a chemical resistant polypropylene wheel inside a 316-grade stainless steel body.

As well as stainless steel furniture manufactured in-house, the Hygienox, from Teknomek range will feature other, specially selected and specified products designed for ultra-sterile environments where ISO 14644 compliance is non-negotiable.

Teknomek is staying true to its open and transparent pricing, with Hygienox products having an instantly available list price. Every product in the new range will be offered in standard sizes, available with Teknomek’s reliable on-time delivery.

“Within ultra-sterile research and production facilities, where compliance with ISO 14644 is critical, nothing but an obsessive approach to contamination control will suffice. Hygienox, from Teknomek has been developed to provide a completely elevated range that offers our customers best in class products when they need them,” concluded Sue Springett.

The RAPID Slit Seal microplate seals from BioChromato helps labs to maintain the integrity of reconstituted samples over several days, thereby enabling high precision repeat analysis.

Used in pharmaceutical, biotech and healthcare labs worldwide, RAPID Slit Seal is a unique self-closing 96-well microplate seal that returns to its original state even when punched with a HPLC or LC/MS autosampler. This useful feature makes RAPID Slit Seal an ideal closure for samples that might be required for further analysis. Even with samples stored for several days in volatile solvents, such as acetonitrile, RAPID Slit Seals are proven to minimise solvent loss through evaporation ensuring sample integrity and the validity of repeat analysis.

Benefiting from pre-cut slits that open easily, labs using RAPID Slit Seal are also able to routinely save time and effort when dispensing or sampling.

Achieving a high integrity seal, without using adhesive above microplate wells, RAPID Slit Seals avoid the chance of sample contamination. In comparison to traditional sealing mats - RAPID Slit Seal offer a way of reducing the cost of microplate sealing consumables.

Data Security for Refractometers and Polarimeters

In regulated environments, proving that data is secure and protected against manipulation is key. But the amount of data that has to be managed, along with types of corporate IT policies, differ from installation to installation.

That’s why Anton Paar offers three qualified standard solutions. With these, users can be sure they’re always in compliance when operating Abbemat refractometers and MCP polarimeters, and when managing the data generated from them. The three solutions are: Stand-alone: The instrument can be operated right from its screen, and the data managed directly on the embedded system. Data can be stored locally or exported directly to a server. PC-based: Users can control the instrument and collect data via a PC. System administration and all data are on the PC, which carries a security infrastructure and follows standard backup routines. AP Connect: Multiple instruments’ data can be managed centrally in a powerful data hub. This is the perfect solution for efficient data review and signing, independent of instrument operation. These software solutions are designed to fulfil your requirements. All three comply with 21 CFR Part 11, are supported by outstanding pharma qualification documents, and have been proven in hundreds of audits. More information online: ilmt.co/PL/XZYZ

57983pr@reply-direct.com Ultrasonic Cleaning Solutions for Laboratory Applications

The cavitation phenomenon consists of the formation and growth of millions of microscopic bubbles under a low-pressure stage, produced into the ultrasonic bath due to a high power transducer 40kHz. These bubbles break in all directions and attack every surface in contact with water, erasing dirt, impurities and pollutants when contacting with the materials or pieces into the bath. This phenomenon allows cleaning all kind of items without the need of disassembling, due to all the surfaces being in contact with the liquid. The heating function of the unit allows the acceleration of this cleaning process.

Wiggens presents two series of standard ultrasonic cleaners with reliable quality and useful features, which allows the users a wide range of cleaning applications such as lab materials, medical instruments, dental prosthesis, optics, industrial items, jewelleries, also the degasification or liquid dissolution and compact substances disaggregation.

The following are the standard working volumes supplied: 3, 6, 10 and 22 litres, and bespoke volumes can be ordered for different applications. All functions can be viewed and monitored on a large and clear touch screen display. The parameters can be set by screen touching, including the ultrasonic working power (40% to 100%), bath temperature (20ºC to 80ºC), timer and warning function for safety.

All models are equipped with lids and trays that allow the parts they introduce to be directly cleaned without damaging the transducers and for easy handling.

In addition to the standard ultrasonic cleaners, Wiggens also offers the ultrasonic cleaners with special added functions. The Shaking Ultrasonic Cleaner is a good example, which means that the sample can be pre-homogenised at a specific shaking speed, and then final homogenisation can be achieved in a very short time, using ultrasonic power These two procedures can be carried out simultaneously or separately. Another added function is an ultrasonic cleaner with cooling for use in pathology and analysis labs, where the temperature of bath can be maintained at 10ºC to 40ºC even with the ultrasonic power generating heat continuously.
