New Generation Autoclaves and Validation Processes for Efficient Laboratory Work
Systec, a world-leading manufacturer of laboratory autoclaves, and its partner company Evidencia GmbH, presented their technologies and processes at Medica 2019. Evidencia introduced innovative concepts for qualifying and validating equipment and sterilisation processes, whilst eager anticipation mounted for Systec’s launch of their first product from the redesigned Systec H-Series: the new and improved Systec HX-150 autoclave.
The Systec HX-150 autoclave is the world’s first device from the new, improved Systec H-Series, a new generation of autoclaves in a novel design, with a completely overhauled interior, and a touchscreen control that has been newly developed from scratch. This combination guarantees more precise work, easier to maintain equipment, and up to 25% faster autoclaving processes.
In addition, the new autoclaves come with an Ethernet port as standard and optional Wi-Fi hardware to optimise updating processes, remote maintenance, and remote control of the devices via a computer network. An integrated USB port allows the automated export of documentation data in CSV or PDF format. The volume of the extended internal memory also allows storage of up to 10 years of documentation data. This eliminates the need for separate programs for documentation and archiving that are the otherwise necessary. This integrated documentation function is also interesting from a regulatory point of view, because the new generation of the Systec H- Series thereby automatically fulfils an essential point of the FDA guideline 21 CFR Part 11. Additional features of the series also serve in this regard to satisfy regulatory requirements from the pharmaceutical industry, such as automatically distributed, tamper-proof signatures for the PDF and CSV files that are generated, and the tracking of all actions, adjustments, and alerts using AuditTrail.
In addition to the new generation of autoclaves, visitors to Analytica 2020 are able to take a closer look at many other Systec devices. These includes not only autoclaves, but also advanced media preparators and the Systec Mediafill dispensing and dosing system. Next Generation Energy Saving Compact Microbiological Safety Cabinets

Recently launched, Telstar BiOptima is a new ergonomic human-centred Class II MSC designed to be completely adapted to the operator’s physical attributes and requirements. The new Telstar BiOptima, whose applications feature low noise levels, low power consumption and low maintenance costs, is available in two versions. A BiOptima standard version with two HEPA filters, according to the EN12469 standard, for microbiological research with biological agents (bacteria, viruses, etc.) and allergens and BiOptima Cyto, including three HEPA filters, according to the DIN12980 norm, addressed to work with high-risk microbiological and highly toxic applications, such as the production of cytotoxic drugs.

BiOptima standard version provides operator protection with the inflow air barrier, product protection thanks to HEPA-filtered laminar downflow in the working area and environmental protection through the exhaust HEPA filter. BiOptima Cyto is equipped with additional V-shaped HEPA filters underneath the work surface, which filter the inflow air and keep the internal construction of the cabinet free of contamination, ensuring greater safety for high risk applications.
The new cabinet offers a very spacious work area, 550 mm in depth and 700 mm in height, which enables productivity and comfort with plenty of space, in a smart
compact design with an overall height of only 1450 mm. Easy to clean, the working chamber in one piece is made in AISI 304 Stainless Steel with rounded edges inside the cabinet to facilitate effective disinfection and maximise contamination prevention. In addition, the electrically operated front window slides upwards offering 500 mm height access.

The Telstar Bio II Advance Plus is a compact microbiological safety cabinet intended for the laminar flow manipulation of microorganisms with biological risk levels 2 and 3 with an innovative design that offers smaller outer frame than the market average whilst maintaining a very comfortable workspace. With dimensions of 759 mm in width and 1260 mm in height, the Bio II Advance Plus provides a working volume of 340 dm3. Equipped to achieve maximum efficiency, this new range of MSC integrates energy saving EC fans and dimmable LED illumination that ensures optimum protection levels as well as low energy consumption.
These cabinets are developed in accordance with the European EN 12469 standard for Microbiological Safety Cabinets, have been certified by TUV Nord in Hamburg (Germany).
