51 Pumps, Valves & Liquid Handling New Built-in Syringe Pump Announced
Spetec GmbH is presenting a new product. The Precision-SY OEM built-in syringe pump was specially developed for use in equipment where high precision in the microlitre and nanolitre range is required when introducing samples or reagents.
It is specially matched to the requirements of the analysis equipment, i.e. the shape and colour of the mounting plate are tailored to customer requirements. The core elements of the pumps are a stepper motor, a spindle, a linear guideway, a syringe holder and replaceable syringes.
Thanks to the high stepper motor resolution of 25,600 steps per revolution, individual steps during the movement sequence are barely perceptible. A connecting element that forms a rigid connection between the spindle and the syringe plunger transmits the drive force from the stepper motor, thus delivering the feed motion for filling or emptying the syringe. Metering syringes with volumes between 0.05 ml and 10 ml are used. It is optionally available with our SMC01 controller.

New System Provides Accurate and Safe Bottle-top Dispensing of Many Common Laboratory Liquids
Gilson have introduced DISPENSMAN™, a bottle-top dispenser for convenient, safe, and precise delivery of common laboratory solutions and solvents. DISPENSMAN continues the innovation of Gilson’s liquid handling line, which also includes PIPETMAN®, the first continuously adjustable-volume pipette.
DISPENSMAN has an innovative, three-position nozzle that controls the dispensing of liquids, the removal of air in the system to avoid liquid loss, and includes an anti-drip safety feature that returns liquid to the bottle. Make volume changes quickly and easily by pushing to unlock and then sliding the volume adjuster to the desired dispensing volume with no need to open bottles, decreasing chances of contamination.
DISPENSMAN is easily calibrated by the user and accommodates most liquids including many acids, bases, and solvents. The system is autoclavable, and does not require consumables such as tips.
Five DISPENSMAN models are available that cover various volume ranges from as low as 0.25 mL up to 50 mL. All meet ISO 8655 specifications. A variety of adaptors are also available that allow the DISPENSMAN to be used with most common bottle types.
