Hydrocarbon, Sulphur and Nitrogen Testing in One Instrument

AC Analytical Controls' CNS SIMDIS, by PAC, is the only instrument on the market that combines boiling point distribution testing for hydrocarbon, nitrogen, and sulphur in a single run. It’s a unique instrument with an all-in-one approach to fuel testing.

Regulations around the world pressure refineries to produce low-sulfur fuels. In addition, the nitrogen and sulphur compounds in hydrocarbons are two of the most critical catalyst contaminants affecting both refinery productivity and margins. In order to optimise their operations, refineries need to not only understand the sulphur and nitrogen concentrations but also their presence in the processing streams boiling range span.

The AC CNS SIMDIS analyser offers the market the required level of detail that empowers refineries to precisely assess raw materials, develop better modelling and optimise their processes. With its robust design, dedicated AC SIMDIS software, and complete range of calibration and reference material, the AC CNS SIMDIS Analyser is a fully automated solution for unattended operation and ease of use. The system complies with ASTM D2887, D6352, D7500, and the incorporated sulfur SIMDIS distillation principle is currently being standardised by PAC as ASTM WK24514.

Laboratory Fume Hood

Hemco Corporation is pleased to offer the New LE Low Flow Constant Volume Fume Hood. Offered in 3’, 4’, 5’, 6’, and 8’ widths the Hemco LE fume hood incorporates a UniFlow superstructure, which provides unitised composite construction for superior chemical resistance, and strength. The VaraFlow baffle system directs the air through the fume chamber and through the exhaust outlet with minimum turbulence and maximum airflow efficiency.

Expanded Steel Freezer Rack Line

Heathrow Scientific has made product improvements to their existing line of Steel Freezer Racks to coincide with a line expansion.

Heathrow Scientific now offers an even wider selection of rack sizes for both upright and chest freezers to accommodate safely stored samples in the most popularly-sized freezers. All racks are corrosion-resistant, stainless steel and have handles for easy access. Racks conveniently store boxes up to a 133 x 133mm footprint and accommodate 2” tall boxes (up to 53mm) and/or 3” tall boxes (up to 78mm) depending on the rack model.

The line expansion gave the product development team at Heathrow Scientific an opportunity to review the design of the product. “We made some new generation improvements and tightened tolerances,” replied Pete Hadjis from Product Development. The line will now feature 17 SKU’s and offer customers more options. “Our customers have always appreciated that our racks can store a wide range of popular brands of plastic or cardboard cryostorage boxes, along with our Heathrow Scientific Arctic Squares®

boxes,” continued Hadjis.

Heathrow Scientific also researched current low temperature freezers that are available on the market and made certain that the racks matched the

freezer specifications. “Armed with this information we developed a dedicated website that lists appropriate racks to specific freezer brands and models,” Hadjis concluded.

Nine sizes will be available for the upright style freezers and eight for the chest style. Steel Freezer Racks are made for use in both regular and ultra-low freezers.

Low Temperature Plasma Steriliser Model

Haier’s HRPS model sterilisers have been rated as one of the most innovative products on the market today. New technologies have been used, such as plasma program processing technology, semiconductor refrigeration storage technology to control hydrogen’s temperature between 10-32°C and hydrogen filter flow structure technology.

Further advantages include: convenient installation; single phase access without any necessary pipeline, aeration or disposal system; minimum exterior dimensions among similar products to reduce floor space; versatile castors to move easily; low environment and tool requirements for installation.

The equipment is extremely user-friendly and operators require only minimal training is required to become skilful in using it.

Soft sterilisation techniques prolong the appliance life and reduce maintenance costs.

The Planetary Mono Mill PULVERISETTE 6 classic line from Fritsch is optimal for fine-grinding of laboratory samples down to < 1 µm as well as for mixing, homogenising, emulsifying and alloying

With this universal mill the sample preparation and the sample analysis have again equal rights on the laboratory bench.

Typical fields of application: geology, mineralogy, metallurgy, soil research, electrical industry, chemistry, ceramics industry, glass industry, nuclear research, and pharmacy research.

The PULVERIESTTE 6 is a planetary ball mill with one grinding station and an internal unbalance compensation. Because of the high ball acceleration a significantly higher comminution rate is achieved compared with centrifugal ball mills. The comminution in closed vessels guarantees loss-free milling (including suspensions). All grinding parameters, like grinding time, interval-, break times and rotational speed are adjustable via membrane keyboard.

Grinding bowls and balls for the PULVERISETTE 6 are offered in 9 different materials and 3 different sizes. Therefore the instrument can be used universally and enables contamination-free grinding as well as optimum quantitative adaption.
