Memmert Cooled Incubator IPP with Peltier Elements High-precision, environmentally friendly and nearly noiseless


Excellent controllability, extremely small control fluctuations, low-vibration operation and impressive energy savings provide the added value from the application-oriented adaption of the Peltier technology in the Memmert cooled incubator series IPP.


In modern food analytics, cosmetic research, cell biology, immunology, pharmacology, bioanalytics or biotechnology, experiments and processes must be repeatable and documentable under precisely defined conditions. With the Memmert cooled incobators IPP the user works with the highest precision, without vibrations and in an energy-efficient manner, as in contrast to compressor technology, energy is only required when the device is heating up or cooling down. With interfaces for programming, storage and printout of temperature control processes, the cooled-incubators IPP are network-capable, document all process parameters and are easy to operate.


The devices are amongst others used for determining the biochemical oxygen requirement, in minimum durability tests, in the incubation of cell and tissue cultures, in breeding insects or in clinical trials for vaccines.

A New Memmert Product with Peltier Technology: IPS Storage Chamber for Storing Samples, with an Interior Volume of 749 Litres


Why design the performance of an incubator for rapid, and thus energy-intensive, heating up and cooling down phases, when it is used mainly for storing BOD5 samples, drinks containers or cosmetics at constant temperatures over long periods? As a consequence of this consideration, Memmert Engineering developed the new IPS storage chamber, based on Peltier technology, with a temperature range from +14°C to +45°C. The heating/cooling technology was designed precisely for uniform conditions close to the ambient temperature, and offers an energy-saving, and thus climate-friendly alternative for the long-term storage of cosmetics, for instance.


Running with no vibration and above all practically noiseless, this innovative heating/cooling technology saves on operating costs to a considerable extent. Not only does energy consumption drop, which can make a big difference for companies and institutions with environment certification, but also the costs for refrigerants and maintenance of the refrigeration technology are removed entirely.

In Memmert cooled incubators, this space-saving and low-noise heating/cooling system without a compressor has for years been demonstrating its energy-saving potential of up to 90% compared with conventional compressor-cooled appliances; an argument which is not insignificant, especially in long-term material tests in industry and research. With a temperature-range of + 5°C to + 70°C and digital humidity control in a working range from 10 to 90% rh, the HPP demonstrates its strengths in particular in the ongoing stability tests for food and pharmaceutical products in accordance with ICH: it has long-term stability, absolute reliability and precision, along with lots of GMP/GLP-compliant documentation options.
