Burdinola - Bringing Fume Cupboards into the 21st

Century

With over 25 years experience, Burdinola is a company that produces the highest quality fume cupboards and containment systems. Today they are bringing new thinking and different concepts to the field that not only make the process safer, more efficient and more reliable, but also cut running costs and reduce their cupboards carbon footprint.

Burdinola’s range of different fume cupboard models have been carefully designed, tested and approved. Detailed research has been carried out on all the materials used in the cupboards, as well as the conception and implementation of air conduits.

What’s more, fully computerised systems ensure the fume cupboards will always function correctly and finally bring an end to such problems as inadequate air extraction, incorrect air velocity and air turbulence.

Experimenting with fume cupboards

The difference with Burdinola is in the design. In order to obtain the best performance, they constructed a test room in their factory to study the materials, the design and build of the fume cupboard and develop super efficient new features. Most recently an infrared curtain system with horizontal beams has been created by the team, a revolutionary new approach that offers many benefits including improved safety from possible contamination.

Using the test room has also helped unearth more sophisticated ideas such as Variable air Volume (VAV) systems that help reduce the energy consumed by fans, more efficient counter balance systems, and 10 warning features that emit a bleep if there’s a problem. Put simply, the ideas coming out of Burdinola are taking fume cupboard technology out of the dark ages and bringing it up to date for today’s sophisticated modern laboratory.

Possible energy savings are demonstrated in this table:

Lower running costs. Less environmental damage.

Experimenting with other fume cupboards no longer necessary.

Estimated dates on 220 working days a year, 10 hours a year and considering an average consuption of 2,75KW per fume cupboard.

Burdinola also takes a different approach when it comes to customer service. Whereas some brands force customers to be dependent on them for accessories and maintenance, Burdinola is refreshingly different. Because the cupboards all have an IP address all maintenance tests can be carried out remotely over the internet. So engineers don’t have to jump on a plane and travel half way around the globe and the whole maintenance process can be carried out much faster.

Equally important, parts can be purchased locally and at the best prices available – all Burdinola supply is the operating software.

If you’re looking to update an old fume cupboard or you’re in the process of building a brand new laboratory, why not speak to the experts. You’ll find it both a rewarding and enlightening experience.
