38 New Powerful Diaphragm Vacuum Pumps Series Dealers wanted

The new eight-cylinder diaphragm vacuum pumps from Vacuubrand offer 30 to 60% more pumping speed than the predecessor series and are thus by far the most powerful diaphragm pumps of this manufacturer. With capacities ranging up to nearly 20 m3/h and ultimate vacuums between 70 mbar and 0.3 mbar depending on the version, a broad spectrum of requirements are covered. They can be used as a replacement for oil-sealed rotary vane pumps and water ring pumps for example for load lock applications and vacuum network supplies or in kilolab and mini-plant areas. From the intake to the outlet of the chemistry pump models all wetted components are made of highly resistant plastics and perfluoro elastomers and are thus highly resistant to aggressive chemicals. This allows operation without any cold trap, and thus reduces the total cost of ownership. Also regular oil changes, required with rotary vane pumps, or the high water consumption and complex maintenance of water ring pumps are eliminated. The ultimate vacuum in particular with gas ballast is significantly improved compared to the previous models. The new eight-cylinder pumps are a very environmentally friendly and economical alternative to conventional vacuum pumps. The pumping units are ideal for harsh operating conditions due to the separator at the inlet and provide an efficient solvent recovery due to emission condenser. The VARIO® versions are operating up to 40% more energy-efficient than the predecessor models.

In practical use up to 90% of the energy needed for a process can be saved by the automatic, on-demand Vacuubrand VARIO®

- speed

control in comparison to permanently running pumps. In most applications the average motor speed is much reduced causing the already very long service interval of Vacuubrand diaphragm pumps to be extended even further. The new eight-cylinder diaphragm pumps provide a trendsetting, clean and environmentally friendly alternative to conventional vacuum technologies.

Shimadzu has created a new Laboratory World for its customers from all over Europe. The Laboratory World is located at Shimadzu’s European headquarters in Duisburg, Germany. On an area greater than 1,500 m2

Successful Arablab for Chemical Manufacturer

Scharlab was present at Arablab with a booth last March in Dubai, UAE. Arablab was, once again, an excellent opportunity for Scharlab to welcome their Middle East area distributors into their booth as well as some end customers from both UAE and neighbouring countries.

Scharlab would like to thank everyone who came by their booth and especially those who are already working with them as partners: you make possible Scharlab’s growth year after year and the Company really appreciate your efforts and work when promoting Scharlau products in your respective countries.

facilities are available for Shimadzu’s entire product range, from chromatographs, spectrophotometers, TOC analysers, mass spectrometers and balances up to material testing machines. Mass spectrometry, a technology that Shimadzu has significantly shaped in recent years, will be highlighted in its dedicated space. In addition, laboratory areas for customer applications and seminar facilities are being expanded.

“The Laboratory World offers numerous opportunities both for our customers and us”, explained Jürgen Kwass, Managing Director of Shimadzu Europa. “Here, we develop solutions that are primarily geared to the growing needs of industries and science. The Laboratory World provides even better demonstration facilities to help our customers experience daily operation as realistically as possible. In addition, we offer continuing education and training to customers as well as staff members. Another goal is to create an inspiring atmosphere for our team in which they can develop new methods and technologies for future-oriented products.” said Kwass.

The continuing advances in technologies, systems and methods in recent years require companies in a wide range of industries, institutions and the scientific community to be offered a more extensive, improved and comfortable environment for continuing education and training. In addition, consumer and product safety regulations have been extended in recent years, which means that testing and analysis needs, and consequently the need for training, will continue to increase in the future.

Shimadzu has invested a total of €3.2 million in the expansion of its laboratory and training facilities.

The new facilities will be opened on 15 April 2013 by Akira Nakamoto, President and CEO of Shimadzu Corporation, the Japanese Consul Kiyoshi Koinuma and Duisburg’s Lord Mayor Sören Link.
