Need a little inspiration to help put the finishing touches to your home? Take a trip to newly opened Studio Long Lane, on the outskirts of Newport.

In partnership with Long Lane Flooring and Carpets, Studio Long Lane is a stylish and inviting space which has been created to fire the imagination and provide interiors inspiration. The relaxed and tactile studio and store offers the perfect showcase for its unique blend of home furnishings and tiles.

You’ll find a carefully curated collection of stunning furniture, tiles, paints and home accessories. Textiles from Sweden, lighting from the Netherlands, handmade British sofas, paints and ceramics all mix happily together in a textural palette.

The Studio Long Lane team have a wealth of experience which allows them to discard the generic styles available from a myriad of websites and shops and focus on exclusive and innovative ranges.

Why not stop in and take a look at the ever-evolving collection of beautiful velvet furniture, rattan style, encaustic tiles, paints and interior accessories, or to discuss your interior styling projects.

Visit the studio at Long Lane, Newport, from Monday to Friday, 10am until 4pm and on Saturday, from 10am until 1pm.

“We have just completed the two year restoration of former Lady Hamilton’s residence in Ryde. The building was already converted into flats in the 60s but they have been derelict for more than 15 years,” says Elisabeth.

“We are now on a new exciting chapter, looking to develop new historic buildings on derelict problem-ridden sites in areas of outstanding natural beauty. We are working with local architects, the council and local tradesmen. We love the Isle of Wight, and want to do our bit to make it better.”

INSPIRATIONAL ARCHITECTURE

Best known for the ability to provide clients with creative design solutions, Mattinson Associates Ltd. is an award-winning architectural practice designing bespoke buildings that blend seamlessly into their settings.

Founded by Lindsay Mattinson in 2004, the practice builds on her 20+ years of experience and offers a holistic design approach.

Mattinson Associates focus on people, performance and wellbeing to help people flourish in an environment which comfortably caters for their needs.

They have recently been lead consultants on beautiful creek-side property. The brief was to design an iconic family home which sat seamlessly in the surrounding oak trees. The clients wanted to offer their children an inspiring home to grow up in, which included great indoor spaces and blurred the boundaries of space between the house and garden.

“Our new home has been built carefully around the trees and has become part of the woodland. The house is still under construction but the likeness to Lindsay’s original concept design sketch already is uncanny! Such a beautiful design and we can’t wait for it to be finished!”
