Sixth Form (continued)

SIXTH FORM STUDENT PROFILE: OLIVIA WATKINS

Olivia is currently a highly valued and hard-working member of our Year 13 cohort. She has a long-held ambition to build a career in the art world, specifically using her skills to work in the digital world. By her own admission, ever since Olivia can remember she has been doodling during school lessons! She would use cartoons to help her through her GCSEs by drawing the ‘notes’ in lessons. This constant need to have a pencil or pen in her hand and to be drawing her way through life has meant she has become rather good at this. She has even drawn using the wooden stirrers in a fast-food outlet.

When Olivia entered the Sixth Form she opted to study Photography, Media Studies and Art. Following a visit to a local Higher Education convention, Olivia discovered the option to study Game Art at Falmouth University. She went ahead and applied and was called for an interview at Falmouth at which she had to share her art portfolio. This impressed the interviewers enough to win her a place on the course from September. Olivia says she can’t wait to get playing with the technology at Falmouth, where she will be working with animators, artist and programmers who share her passions and ambition.

Below is one of Olivia’s character creations which she continues to develop.
