‘Transforming’ directors are appointed to Chamber board

(GBCC) have announced that policy and strategic relations director Henrietta Brealey and Katrina Cooke, director of marketing and communications, will be joining the 14-strong board as executive members. Paul Faulkner, chief executive of the GBCC, said:


“The appointments are thoroughly deserved and mark a statement for the future of the Chamber. “Since joining the Chamber, both Henrietta


and Katrina have made a huge impact and have grown their teams into effective and important elements of Chamber operations. “It has been impressive to watch them grow


into their roles and in turn develop their teams, both of which have transformed the Chamber. “We have retained and grown our influence on


all policy matters relating to the region, with Henrietta now a respected figure in all elements of that work across the membership and strategic bodies. The Chamber’s views are continually sought by the media locally, regionally and nationally and it is Henrietta and her equally young team who are at the forefront of shaping those policies into coherent business messages. “Kat and her marketing team have driven the


huge strides the Chamber has made in transforming our digital, social media and events operations. We now have a website that is second to none and continues to develop. “Both Henrietta and Kat have brought


strategic value to the Chamber and their appointments to the board mark important

developments for the Chamber and their careers. “These are exciting times at the GBCC and for


the region in general, and I'm thrilled to have two individuals of the calibre of Henrietta and Katrina joining the board.” Henrietta began her career at the Chamber as


a part-time intern in the policy department in June 2012. In 2015, she was appointed director of policy and strategic relationships aged just 25. She said: “A large part of my role involves


keeping our members informed about the latest in business best practice and policy changes and developments that could impact them. I am looking forward to using this expertise to


support the strategic direction of the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce.” Katrina joined the Chamber in 2015, having


worked in various roles in the marketing team at Aston Villa Football Club for eight years. She said: “It has been a privilege to be a part


of Paul’s executive team over the past three years at the Chamber as we have implemented a number of changes and new initiatives under his leadership, all with the on-going objective to connect, support and grow local businesses. On a personal note, I feel incredibly lucky to have worked for two Birmingham-based organisations in my career full of rich history and heritage.”
