matter what 29 March 2019 throws at us. We’ll be back in February with another Chamberlink packed with news and views from businesses throughout the Greater Birmingham region. And we will be presenting some new developments for the magazine, including a feature on restaurants who are your fellow Chamber members. ‘Where do you fancy?’ It will not be judgemental,

IT MIGHT seem like a mission too far but we are

doing our best to guide you through the miasma that is Brexit. Amid resignations, political recriminations and a stupefying 585-page official Brexit document, someone has to do it. Step forward the Greater Birmingham

Chambers of Commerce policy department, under the direction Henrietta Brealey. Their Business Brexit Health Check (see page 13) has been published and aims to cut through the fog by providing businesses with a personalised report suggesting how they might clear their minds. It’s all a bit worrying because research

released by the British Chambers of Commerce reveals that 62 per cent of businesses in the West Midlands have yet to carry out a risk assessment of how Brexit might impact on them. Much of the support work to produce the Chamber’s Health Check has been provided by our Brexit Advisory Group of 12 people working at the cutting edge of business in the city. Government and EU shenanigans have left

very little time for negotiating a Brexit deal. We have urged all in positions of political power to put self-interest to one side and focus on securing the best outcome for all citizens and businesses in the UK. And the Health Check is all part of the

Chamber’s mission to continue to inform businesses on Brexit facts as they become available. In that way we aim to help businesses in the

region to understand and best prepare and navigate through this complex subject. To find out more, go to: www.greaterbirminghamchambers.com/brexit
