part I submitted the wrong notes last week that had no mention of the historic win for the Ballinacurra
GAA Footballers. Anytime a team wins a County title it should be applauded by all involved in the lo- cal GAA community and as PRO with the Imokilly Board its only right we acknowledge the great
work and commitment by Ballinacurra club to reach and win the County final on the second day out
against Grange in Pairc Ui Rinn on Friday 3rd
in Pairc Ui Rinn. A big well done to all on
this great feat and we wish them every success going forward.
Well what a week its
been for hurling with the Jamsie Kelleher Junior A Hurling
championship
taking place over the weekend.
First up we had the long awaited Russell Rovers v St Itas game which finally took place in Copperalley in Youghal because of Fog on the top of the hill. Thank you to Youghal for facliltating
the game and being able to move at the last minute. Well done to Russell Rov- ers
who came out on top of
this game, but both teams went back into the draw on Saturday evening for the next round of games.
The second game on
Saturday saw Fr O’Neills take on Cobh in Cloyne with Cobh coming out on top here with a score of 3-15 to Fr O’Neills 1-16. It was a good tough encounter with both teams giving there all. Once again a big thank you to
Cloyne GAA for hosting the game on the day. Af- ter the game the draw was made for the quarter Finals of the East Cork Oil sponsered Jamsie Kelleher

weekend was on Sunday evening where Bride Rov- ers faced Killeagh in Ball- ynoe with the winners facing Lis-
goold in the Quarter Fi- nal
