Sunshine Sand and Societies The headline says it all.

Blue skies returned to West Waterford last week. With the Friary Handball Clas- sic, the Corncrakes society and

a qualifying week-

end club competition, the place was a hive of activity throughout the week. The bunker crew

willingly

availed of the improving weather and ground con- ditions in an effort to com- plete the bunker project at West Waterford. The old sand and linings were removed and replaced,

the drainage pipes were checked and replaced, and all was ready for the final phase of the project. From dawn till dusk the volunteer

crew were on

hand and from Wednes- day onwards the bunkers were being completed in a timely manner. The ma- jority of bunkers have now been completed and the remainder will be ready within the next week. This project is testament to the loyalty and support of those who funded it and the many volunteers who gave of their time and tal- ent to bring this project to fruition. No need to men- tion names at this time but suffice it to say that West Waterford is in good hands as we continue to provide top class facilities for our members and visitors. Why not come along and sample the experience for yourself. Welcome to West Waterford.

achievement in itself but something tells me Stevie plans on going the extra mile this time. Without being over confident he knows he has a strong pan- el this year and he wont hesitate

in ringing over Faithlegg, the

changes should this be nec- essary.

Hard earned wins Youghal,

and a strong Gold Coast team in previous rounds will have made our team aware of the mammoth task they face in the area final. If our team can con- tinue their current run of form on Wednesday I feel they can progress to the next round. The very best of luck to Stephen and the team and we hope to see a large crowd of supporters at Cahir Park.
