England Manager Gareth Southgate congratulates Broadstone Football Club

Broadstone Football Club is celebrating after being awarded a £3,000 Grow the Game grant, something that has attracted

praise from England Manager Gareth Southgate.

The grant, which will provide a boost to grassroots football in Broadstone, has paved the way for the football club to increase its offering of football specifi cally for girls, both under 9s (school years 3 and 4) and under 11s (school years 5 and 6). The two new teams have entered the Dorset Girls league for their respective ages. The funding has also opened the door for two new coaches to join the club and will enable them to complete their FA Level 1 Certifi cate in Coaching Football.

England Men’s Senior Manager and Football Foundation Ambassador, Gareth Southgate, said: “I am so pleased that Broadstone FC has secured this Grow the Game grant. The club has worked very hard with the Dorset FA and the Football Foundation to get more local people playing football so that they can enjoy the many physical and mental benefi ts that come with playing regular sport.

“Grow the Game is mainly funded by The FA and delivered by the Football Foundation. This is money that is fl owing from the very top of the game down to the lowest levels, to help clubs at the grassroots to bear the cost of starting up a new team, whether it be for a new kit, pitch hire or sending volunteers on FA accredited coaching courses.”

Broadstone FC would like to thank the Football Foundation for providing this opportunity and the support given in the successful award of this grant.

Email: broadstonefc@gmail.com with your name, age and school year and we will be in touch. Thanks!

It was a brilliant event which consisted of a very helpful

workshop on gaining sponsorship, an

exciting sneak peak at the upcoming new kit range to be released on 1st January and a training session on the indoor pitch run by Nike coaches, whilst trying out the latest top of the range Nike boots! The evening entertainment was a chat show with Dan Walker fi rst talking to Carly Telford, Jill Scott and Gareth Southgate, followed by him talking to Gareth McAuley and Ray Parlour, which was excellent.

It was a very enjoyable day and topped off with a night in the on-site Hilton Hotel.

Matt and Tim would like to say a huge thank you to the club for selecting them to go for what was a brilliant experience.
