Welcome to the November issue

This month we remember those who have sacrificed so much for us. See page 62 for details of local Remembrance events and page 74 for details of a Remembrance concert.

As we move deeper into Autumn, lots of our advertisers and community groups are starting to talk about Christmas. The annual Broadway Christmas Lights Switch On is on Thursday 30th November at 6pm and the Christmas Parade follows shortly after on Saturday 2nd December (pg74). Keep an eye on our Facebook page for full details of both events.

New advertisers in this issue include the Broadstone Business Centre on pages 22-23. These units (tucked behind Shine Lighting at the back of the First School) house a variety of local businesses that you may not have heard of before. Do get in touch – they would love to hear from you!

Just around the corner, the Broadstone Day Centre charity shop is celebrating 25 years on Dunyeats Road this month (pg29). The team will be holding a half-price sale throughout November, so do pop in and pick up a bargain. All funds raised always subsidise the weekly Day Centre at the United Reformed Church.

Also raising funds is Alison King from Corfe Mullen, who runs half marathons each year for a variety of charities (pg55). This year she is raising money for a friend to receive life-changing multiple sclerosis treatment. If you’d like to help, she would certainly welcome your support.

Until next time, Karen Next Copy Deadline: 15th November for the December issue In this issue...
