A Broadstone Project to support people with memory loss and their carers
One of the aims of our project is to work towards making
Broadstone a Dementia Friendly Community. We have recently had
some very attractive window stickers printed and there are already some on display in Broadstone shops and other organisations where staff have undertaken dementia friendly training. We need many more businesses and organisations to participate and display the window stickers to publicise that we are a Dementia Friendly Community. Please do contact me for your free stickers if you feel that you already qualify as ‘dementia friendly’ or if you would like a short training session provided for your staff at a convenient time for you.
Meanwhile our main activities continue to thrive:
A weekly reading group every Monday, 11am to 12 noon, in Broadstone Library.
A monthly ‘Drop In’ for tea, chat and activities, at Broadstone Methodist Church, 2.15pm to 4pm, Friday 10th November, and Friday 8th December.
A monthly Advice Surgery, with Peter Jones, at Broadstone Library, 10am to 12 noon, Thursday 16th November and Thursday 21st December.
A Christmas Forget Me Not Church Service is planned for early December in Broadstone United Reformed Church – more details in due course.
