Winning On Waste!
Thank you to everyone in Broadstone who has been saving their recycling for Win On Waste.
Since starting the group in
Jenny and Jan from Good Vibrations,
Cllr Vikki Slade, June and Mike Webber (regular contributors)
January, Broadstone Win On Waste has consistently been the busiest group in Bournemouth and Poole, saving dozens of sacks of milk bottle tops, Tassimo discs and many more items from landfi ll and raising money for local charities.
I am delighted that I am now joined regularly by a dedicated team of volunteer Ambassadors including Steph, Yvonne, Jill, Jane and Pam with more volunteers stepping forward by the month. I am hoping to use this group as a springboard for more environmental and recycling initiatives and would love to hear from groups who want to get involved, or people who are collecting items that we can help.
Thanks to your support, I was awarded Highly Commended in the No 1 Recycler Category of the Recycling Awards and a special merit award was given to Good Vibrations who have made a huge contribution with their bottle tops. Broadstone is a huge consumer of everything from electricity to cars, so it is not a surprise to be the best recyclers but it is still worthy of an enormous THANK YOU for helping us to turn your rubbish into cash for charities.
Please keep up the good work and watch out each month for our list of items that we need.
