Alison King, a special needs teaching assistant from Corfe Mullen ran in the Great South Run in Portsmouth.
Alison, 52, took up running seven years ago to help her while recovering from a serious illness. Each year she has run a half marathon to raise

money for different causes including Julia’s house and Whizzkids. This year, Alison is running to raise money for her friend Sarah Moore from Broadstone who has multiple sclerosis. Sarah needs a hematopoietic stem cell transplant to improve her condition and enable her to do all the things we take for granted. Rapid deterioration of her condition means that she will have to travel abroad to receive treatment costing over
£30,000. Alison is hoping to raise as much money as she can to help her friend reach her target.
