Let’s Do Business expo is hailed a huge success

Businesses across Staffordshire have forged successful partnerships as a result of the Let’s Do Business Expo. The annual event, which took place at

Uttoxeter Racecourse, welcomed more than 1,200 delegates to a platform from which they had the opportunity to network, ask for referrals, form mutually beneficially partnerships and spread awareness about their business. Networking is one of the most effective ways

to promote and build business and so making Let’s Do Business a must for any organisation looking to connect and share information with new and existing contacts. Chris Plant, director at the Chambers of

Commerce, said: “Let’s Do Business further illustrates our aim of finding ways of bringing businesses together from across the region and to create a vibrant hub of opportunity. “The day was a fantastic success.

Staffordshire is home to thousands of thriving businesses and Let’s Do Business is a key tool in supporting companies to grow further.” David MacDonald, executive director of

Uttoxeter Racecourse, said, “Over the past four years we have formed a number of strong

partnerships during the expo including relationships with our design agency, videographer, cleaning contractors, uniform suppliers, our official charity partners and a number of sponsors. “The relationships formed during this event,

are long-lasting and ensure continued support to the local economy.” Nasar Riaz, director of Abzorbed Events,

said: “The Let’s Do Business Expo offered tangible and definite benefits for our business – helping us to meet over twenty businesses within one day. These leads have already been converted to five sales with more to follow up over the week.”

Tempobet renews

club sponsorship Burton Albion, who kicked off the new season in early August, has renewed its shirt sponsorship deal with the Tempobet brand for a second year. Adult supporters’ shirts will carry the Tempobet

branding but, in line with strict betting rules, junior fans shirts will continue to feature Burton Albion Community Trust in the sponsor’s position. Burton Albion commercial director Fleur

Robinson said: “We were delighted to renew our sponsorship deal with Tempobet and we can now reveal the new shirt design for the forthcoming season. “We are sure the new look will be a hit with

our supporters and will help our partnership with Tempobet continue to flourish. “I am also delighted that Tempobet has again

agreed that our charity, Burton Albion Community Trust, will feature on the shirts of our junior fans, especially as BACT does so much brilliant work with young people. Tempobet CEO Tim Peters said: “We’re very

excited about renewing our sponsorship with Burton Albion and are delighted to see the company logo on the front of such a great new kit. “There is lots to look forward to this season

after the club did so well to retain its Championship status. We’re very much looking forward to being part of the journey again and wish everyone the very best of luck for 2017/18.”

Unlock the power of personal development

The latest Women in Business event in Burton saw guests being treated to a lively talk from personal development business coach Ursula Cameron. Ursula used the session to explain how people

learn and develop, the power of the mind and the influence of language, all of which helps individuals to form solutions for issues they face. Ursula said: “I was very proud to have been

asked to speak to the ladies at Women in Business, and found the room to be full of positive energy. The ladies had a real a thirst for knowledge to improve their business skills and I was overwhelmed by the response after my talk. “Over the years I have trained people all over

the world, from teams in huge corporations to individuals, who require specialists training to develop their careers and sometimes to change their career path completely. Thanks to the WiB committee for inviting me to speak, it was an extremely rewarding experience.” The event – arranged by Burton Chamber and

its event partners FCM Associates, Smith Partnership and Mercure Newton Park Hotel, took place at the latter and attracted more than 50 guests from the local business community. The next Women in Business event is on 12 October and will feature Debbie Leafe.
