International Trade Business Hub

The UK’s innovation agency is holding its flagship event at the National Exhibition Centre, during November. Innovate UK works with people,

companies and partner organisations to find and drive the science and technology innovations that will grow the UK economy. The organisation, which is sponsored by

the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy, in turn part funds Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) together with the European Commission. In this way, the EEN is seen as part of the

Innovate UK ‘family’ and plays an important role for the organisation through its access and reach across more than 600 offices in some 56 countries. The NEC event takes place between 8–9

November and is being promoted as a ‘place where ideas collide’. It will attract global creators, thinkers, investors and entrepreneurs.

Flying the flag for innovation

It is expected that more than 2,500 delegates will attend, who will be from both the UK and abroad. As well an innovation exhibition, the two-

day event will also feature a number of global speakers. EEN international projects manager Rupi

Nandra said: “Innovate 2017 is a fantastic platform for collaboration, partnerships and accessing investment – both in a domestic and international context. “The event is also a great opportunity to

showcase the city and wider region for its innovative and creative prowess. “By highlighting the event and its

advantages to grow business and innovation it is an opportunity to encourage participation both domestically and internationally. There will be one-to-one matchmaking sessions which provide a true opportunity to facilitate business.”
