SPONSORS OF REGIONAL FOCUS

MECH-TOOL BRINGS LONG ESTABLISHED EXPERTISE AND KNOWLEDGE TO THE OFFSHORE RENEWABLE MARKET Mech-Tool Engineering Ltd has recently completed the supply of high integrity pre-fabricated modules and cladding to

the offshore renewables market for the Lincs Substation Project. This is the sixth major offshore renewables project to be supported by Mech-Tool and the benefits of pre-fabricated buildings are more apparent than ever.

RECENT ORDER

The latest order was for Mech-Tool to supply in the region of 500sq metres of blast and fire rated stainless steel cladding, including walls and weather louvers, and a series of modular buildings which included the installation of heating and ventilation systems. Through the close integration with the clients build programme and through the benefits of ‘off yard’ manufacture of modules and cladding, Mech-Tool was able to assist in the timely completion of the accelerated programme.

Business Manager David Walker explains “The great benefit that we have been able to offer through early integration is the optimum configuration in terms of programme and ease of installation at the fabrication yard. When Mech-Tool has had early involvement in a project we have been able to bring over 40 years of learning and development to the project resulting in a bespoke solution that meets even the toughest demands”

INCREASED PRODUCTION CAPACITY Mech-Tool has designed and manufactured modular buildings that provide fire, blast, seismic and acoustic protection to personnel and equipment across a wide range of industry sectors. It has increased production capacity at its Darlington factory by 80% in the past two years to cope with the fast-track nature of the order
