FALCK NUTEC (TEESSIDE) TRAINING CENTRE LAUNCH COMPANY HISTORY
Falck Nutec (Teesside), as it is known now, originated in 1993 from the Norwegian based organisation Nutec Centre for Safety. The company was bought by The Netherlands based Global Safety Group in 2001 then in 2004 became members of the Danish owned Falck Group, the Training division of which currently operates 30 training centres covering 5 continents training in the region of 220,000 delegates per year.
BILLINGHAM TRAINING CENTRE The company have been operating from their Billingham training centre since 1993 providing OPITO fully accredited basic and refresher training to cover workers in the UK, Dutch, Danish and Norwegian North Sea areas and is accepted in many other countries throughout the world.
Operating with an initial workforce of 12 staff members business increased over the following years predominantly in the Oil & Gas sector resulting in an additional UK centre to be built in Aberdeen in 1999. In 2007 the business acquired Onsite Training Services of Aberdeen who now operate under the Falck Onsite banner. The UK business now employs 102 staff and trains in excess of 12,000 delegates per year.
TRAINING AND MEDICAL FACILITIES In conjunction with Occupational Health Services provider Falck Healthcare, course participants can undergo required medical examinations whilst attending their training, saving valuable time and travel expense.
Teesside also provides a wide range of
Health & Safety training for local industry including First Aid, Fire Awareness, Contractor Safety Passport and Confined Spaces awareness, entry & recue.
The modern well equipped centre has a range of simulators which create realistic effects for practical training scenarios, ample free parking, air conditioned classrooms, student IT access, refreshment and dining facilities.
WORKING RELATIONSHIP Training for Offshore, Industrial and Maritime Emergency Response Teams is conducted through a working relationship with The International Fire Training Centre at Durham Tees Valley Airport. The Internationally renowned centre is equipped with a vast range of firefighting and search & rescue scenarios and provides training accredited to OPITO, OLF, MCA, STCW95, and JOIFF standards. Accommodation, parking and dining facilities are also available on site.
ADDITIONAL COURSES Recent additions to the Falck Nutec Teesside portfolio include Marine Safety Training (RUK Approved), Boat Transfer, Working & Rescue at Height, Banksman Slinger Training, Rigging & Lifting, Dutch Safety Passport, IOSH Working & Managing Safely, and NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety.
