The Courtyard at Eden Resort and Suites
The Lancaster County Convention Center complex is comprised of a state-of-the-art hotel and convention center that incorporates the historic Watt & Shand Building, a circa 1898 landmark building at the heart of Lancaster, and the 205- year old William Montgomery House, which has been incor- porated into the hotel’s lobby.
The convention center, featuring 90,000-square feet of meeting space, and the 299-room Lancaster Marriott at Penn Square hotel, are located in the city’s historic Penn Square. Eighty of the rooms are located within the Watt & Shand build- ing’s beaux arts facade.
Cooper Carry, which provided Environmental Graphic Design services for both the hotel and convention center, currently is designing a 105-room expan- sion for the property. The addi- tion is expected to help in attracting larger convention groups to the Lancaster County Convention Center.
Spooky Nook Sports facility, the Fitness Center and group class- es, plus there are additional housing services available for accommodating overflow.
The Turkey Hill Experience in Columbia features cool interactive exhibits in a historic silk mill setting. It also includes the Taste Lab for added appeal as a special events venue. Start with vanilla ice cream, blend in a liquid flavoring, then add a variety of delicious mix-ins and swirls of a favorite syrup. While the ice cream creation hardens, the instructor provides a bit of “Ice Cream 101” for the group.
The county also is home to several unique heritage venues that are perfect for creating memorable events, like the main hall of the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania in Strasburg, with its backdrop of historic locomotives and vintage railroad cars.
Refreshing Mountain in Stevens (northern Lancaster County) is a great meetings venue with offerings that include various lodging (bunkhouses, cabins, etc.) plus meeting room options, high adventure activities (including team building formats), and other recreational facilities.
