“Bucks County is a great destination for businesses looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of the big city for a strategic planning or team building ses- sion in an inspiring, nature-filled setting,” said sales and marketing coordinator for Visit Bucks County, Jenna Worrell. “We have some very unique venues, including historic mansions along the Delaware, riverboat cruises, art muse- ums and more.”
The former Naval Air Development Center (then part of NASA) centrifuge is located in Bucks County, and is an ideal choice for an “out of this world” event. Prior to John Glenn and his fellow astro- nauts making history orbiting the earth, they visited this former NASA site to train. Still standing, it operates as the Johnsville Centrifuge and Science Museum. The space was bought in 2007 to preserve the historic site and was turned into a museum and education center.
Worrell said the Visit Bucks County team will help planners locate the perfect place for their meeting, event or con- vention.
“Groups host events in Bucks County, because it is a scenic countryside get- away, and there are many great spaces for them to stay, meet and dine,” she said. “There are tons of great activities for groups when they’re not working. Since we’re not a main urban area, our prices are more affordable.”
Further west in the state, Gettysburg offers great affordability for meeting space, hotel rooms, dining, attractions and services. Staffers at the local venues work diligently to ensure that meetings and conferences are second-to-none here and provide attendees with unfor- gettable experiences. Because of its proximity, the meeting venues in Gettysburg often work with government groups to ensure rates are reasonable.
