Gabrielle Wallace, corporate sales man- ager for La Prima Catering in the Greater Philadelphia area, talks about how they will happily assist event planners and other hosts to help them find the perfect menu that fits within their budget.
“The nice thing about La Prima is we can do things in so many budget ranges,” notes Wallace. “We can do things whether it’s 25 people or 225 people, and can be more flexible than some restaurants. We use a lot of creativity from the culinary side, tailoring to each client rather than just a cookie cutter menu.”
Wallace adds that catering is a totally dif- ferent animal than restaurant service. “Using a catering company is a totally different outlook. There are so many details that you can get from a catered event and specific customization. You can build it to your own liking and it changes the whole overall persona of an event.”
And no matter what the size your event is or how many jobs La Prima Catering is working on, their large size and vast resources allow them to consistently pro- vide top notch service to all guests. “We have resources as far as DC we can use if we need them. If we have three wed- dings in a weekend, you are still getting the top grade, which makes a difference,” adds Wallace.
The biggest trends in catering, according to Wallace, include healthy food and the continuation of farm-to-table remaining in high demand.
“We have a lot more inquiries for pescatarian and vegetarian weddings. A lot of the current generation getting mar- ried are also much more focused on the quality of food and the taste of food,” says Wallace. “It doesn’t have to be expensive, but instead something very different and fun. It doesn’t need to be filet mignon. Every client is into the food being top quality.”
