Before booking, meetings and convention planners can discover valley Forge and Montgomery County, PA, through Montco 360. this visual overview of the area resulted from a partnership between the vFtCB and Google. Using Google street view and advanced cameras, the tourism organization’s website (
valleyforge.org/maps-info/montco-360) gives planners the opportunity to “walk through” area hotels and conference spaces.
“the adage that a picture is worth a thou- sand words no longer applies to modern digital marketing,” explained Edward Harris, vice president of marketing and communications for vFtCB. “today, people want to see and experience more when they visit a website. With Montco 360, we’re offering over 30 virtual tours to enable conference planners and atten- dees to ‘walk through’ and explore our county.”
Montco 360’s drone footage brilliantly captures much of the county’s rich history and beautiful landscapes - perfect back- drops for team building and spousal pro- grams.
Golfers, for example, can “tour” the coun- ty’s 54 courses online, then they can take a deeper look using Destination Montco Golf (
valleyforge.org/golf). this resource covers gorgeous local country clubs and courses, as well as the hotels and confer- ence centers near them.
But the county’s team building activities go far beyond networking in a golf cart.
the vFtCB can schedule an indoor sky- diving flight (iFLY King of Prussia); an out- door soar (UsA Hot Air Balloon team); an interactive cooking class (Cooking spotlight); and even the bottling and labeling a personalized wine (stone & Key Cellars).
the topic of wine naturally leads to a dis- cussion of food. Crave (
valleyforge.org/crave), the vFtCB reposi- tory of all things dining, presents informa- tion on the excellent menus available throughout the county - resulting from more than 600 restaurants that satisfy
