Vibrant farmlands, family-style feasts and the Amish community combine with city life, exquisite cuisine and contemporary art in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
“Lancaster’s room rates are a good value compared to most traditional Mid-Atlantic meeting locations, and our parking costs are low and often free,” said convention and internation- al sales manager for Discover Lancaster, Mara Sultan.
Lancaster is easily accessible via Amtrak - the second busiest station in Pennsylvania - several major highways and four regional and local airports. Sultan said Lancaster can provide a better meeting experience than the big cities for less money. The area’s smaller size and the personal relation- ships Discover Lancaster has forged with properties means guests of any size meeting will not get “lost in the shuffle.”
“We believe we can attend to the needs of every meeting and conven- tion we host better than a larger city might - and yet still offer many of the amenities and activities you’ll find in a larger area,” asserted Sultan.

referring specific vendors. They also can assist with transportation, coordi- nate an official welcome and/or concierge service, and help planners in search of team building activities.
According to Sultan, Lancaster’s unique appeal stems from its wonder- ful blend of urban style and rural splendor. Lancaster County is home to the origi- nal and largest Amish settlement in the country, but it also has a surpris- ingly hip, walkable downtown, and during a stroll attendees will find art galleries, fine dining establishments, performing arts venues, unique shops and boutique hotels. All of this is only 15 minutes from the heart of Amish farmlands, so the area provides some- thing for everyone’s tastes.
With lower costs added to this blend- ed experience with all of its other amenities, Lancaster County is a very attractive destination for meetings and events.
