Meet the president


Kevin Johns has taken over as the new president of Solihull Chamber. Mr Johns, who is managing director of Prime


Accountants, has taken over the Chamber reins from Solihull College principal John Callaghan. Based at Prime’s Solihull Office, Mr Johns has


more than 25 years’ experience advising clients in the small to medium enterprise (SME) market. As one of the Prime’s key audit specialists, he


looks after a portfolio of clients ranging from large manufacturing enterprises, to charities. He said: “I am passionate about developing the


business community within Solihull. As a business owner within Solihull, I understand the wants and needs of local businesses and will look to use this knowledge and experience to help lead Solihull Chamber through this next term.” Solihull Chamber director Joan Smith paid


tribute to outgoing president John Callaghan, and also welcomed his successor. She said: “John and I have had a fantastic two


years working together, getting out into the community, visiting some of our members, to understand the real needs and issues businesses face on a daily basis.”


New team: Kevin Johns with Joan Smith Solihull Chamber has also announced that its


charity for the year will be Harry Help Others, and Joan said: “I am very pleased to announce that Help Harry Help Others (HHHO) will be our chosen charity for 2017-2018. “Georgie Moseley has turned a tragedy in her


family into a charity which she is completely dedicated to. Her passion to help others is remarkable and inspirational.”


Touchwood is now


a Chamber patron Touchwood has become the latest patron of the Solihull Chamber of Commerce. The shopping centre will focus on supporting the Chamber’s drive to shape the future of commerce in the local area, as well encouraging new business enterprises. Andrew Cole, general manager at


Touchwood, said: “The Solihull Chamber of Commerce plays a vital role in helping to create a welcoming and sustainable community whereby businesses of all sizes can thrive. Its resolve to keep moving Solihull forward is the key to ensuring the ongoing success of Solihull, and is one we feel passionate about supporting.” Solihull Chamber of Commerce director
