FHT recognises therapists at annual awards

The FHT has shone the spotlight on those practitioners, tutors and students setting the bar in therapy practice and education at its 2016 FHT Excellence Awards.

Held at One Whitehall Place, London, the awards were presented by author, presenter and natural health advocate, Janey Lee Grace who was joined by David Tredinnick MP, Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Integrated Healthcare. The awards serve to inspire others and show the real difference that complementary, holistic beauty and sports therapists can make to health and well-being.

Winners were as follows: • FHT Complementary Therapist of the Year, sponsored by Institute for Optimum Nutrition - Michael Morris • FHT Beauty Therapist of the Year, sponsored by Natural HealthMagazine - Angela Wheat • FHT Sports Therapist of the Year, sponsored by VTCT - Nicholas Flanagan • FHT Student of the Year, sponsored by Neal’s Yard Remedies - Lorraine Ryder • FHT Tutor of the Year - Elaine Wilkins • FHT Employee of the Year (Special Recognition) - Complementary Therapy Team, Velindre Cancer Centre

• FHT President’s Award - Dr Peter Mackereth, former Clinical Lead for Complementary Therapies at The Christie, Manchester

Paul Battersby, President of the FHT, says: “These awards are designed to recognise individuals and businesses that are excelling in therapy practice and education. All of our winners should feel exceptionally proud to be selected from a pool of high-calibre peers, in a ceremony that is recognised across the industry. Well done.”

Faye will become an integral part of Guinot’s complete marketing effort, headed up by Marketing and PR Manager Amy Heeralall. Faye will concentrate on franchise marketing, creating and implementing the offline, online, direct and social media marketing plan for the existing franchise salons, and developing the supporting collateral.

She will also work closely with Ellie Tidy QFP, Guinot Franchise Development Manager, to increase awareness of the franchise opportunity and to help with the franchise recruitment strategy.

On joining the company, Faye commented: “I am delighted to be part of the Guinot franchise team. I have always been passionate about the professional beauty industry, and am very pleased that I now have the opportunity to work with a brand like Guinot. I am looking forward to supporting our existing franchisees with creative marketing ideas and being involved in initiatives to grow our franchise network.”
