Body Oil, Rose Bud Body Gel, Peppermint Crème and Lavender Crush Body Oil.

“We’re soon to launch a full skin care range too, which will be available for professional use and retail. We’ve already launched the treatments at the Spa, including the Rose Bud Ritual, the Lavender Crush Ritual, the Rosemary Herb Garden Ritual and the Peppermint Crème Ritual. The Candy Floss Ritual will be the next one to launch in the Summer.

“The Royal Service was developed using the Owl House range on the body and all the Royal Service treatments were created by myself apart from the Royal Bump.”

Who or what in the industry has inspired you when developing your salon and Spa?

“Our honeymoon at a Spa in Mauritius! They delivered amazing customer service and attention to detail, making you feel special. This made me realise this is what we needed to do, to go above and beyond.”

Is there any advice you could pass onto aspiring salon owners?

“Love what you do, be passionate about what you do and when things get tough, just keep going.”

As you celebrate 10 years trading, how do you see the business progressing?

“Our plans for the future include increasing our own product range and expanding the Owl House Day Spa; my husband and I are always looking to expand and grow the business. We love to give clients the latest treatments and love our clients to feel special. We are always looking to create somewhere where clients can fully relax and feel cared for. I truly love what I do so we are always looking to improve and ensure the client’s journey is that little bit more special than the treatment they last had.”

From the moment I walk through the doors to the time I leave, the experience delivered by the Beauty Temple is one of pure luxury. Following its extensive refurbishment, the décor is opulent and plush, and as my therapist guides me up the stairs from the impressive reception area to the Regal Suite, I feel transported away from the busy city centre to a haven of relaxation.

The Regal Suite, with its twin couches, was bedecked in plush velvet, thick pile carpet and plump cushions with attention made to every detail even down to the glitter speckled paintwork.

For my Royal Service treatment I opted for the Royal Lava Shells Ritual and having experienced the Lava Shell massage a number of times I was eager to see how this salon would create a bespoke experience.

The Champagne Nail Bar

After changing into a robe, I was invited to choose one of the salon’s signature scents, one for the room vaporiser and one which would be used in the treatment. I opted for Herb Garden to aromatise the room and relaxing Lavender oil for the massage. I was next shown a Pillow Menu which featured a number of massage pillow options to make my treatment as comfortable as possible, and asked to choose my preferred music for the room. This was then followed by a menu of nibbles and drink that I would enjoy at the end of the treatment. I was starting to understand that the Royal Service is totally tailored to every client so that each individual goes away having experienced a bespoke treatment to them; mine would also include a facial cleanse and the application of a thermal mud mask.

After my feet were washed, I hopped onto one of the heated beds where my choice of pillows had been placed, for the 80-minute massage to begin. Using my chosen Lavender oil, the heated Lava Shells were massaged across pressure points in the palms, arms, neck and shoulder area, as well as the feet, back and shoulders. This was bliss. As the mask was applied, I enjoyed a head and scalp massage which further eased tension.

The Regal Suite

I really didn’t want this treatment to end, but alas it had to, however the Royal Service continued. After dressing, I was ushered down to the champagne bar where my choice of Strawberry Shortcake and Peach Bellini were waiting for me.

As I sat at the bar I realised that the Beauty Temple have managed to achieve a fantastic balance between luxury and accessibility. The opulent surroundings, bespoke treatments and Spa-like ambience of its luxurious suites mean clients will feel truly spoilt however it’s fun champagne and cocktail bar, along with party atmosphere, means it’s also appealing to those looking to pop in for a brow shape or mini mani whilst shopping; I’m already planning my next visit!
