Following a £250,000 refurbishment, Nottingham’s Beauty Temple reopened in October of last year, delivering a ‘Royal Service’ which includes sumptuous décor, the city’s first Moët champagne nail bar, pop up parties and a monthly in-house DJ where clients can enjoy an evening of mini treatments, cocktails and tunes. The salon also features two suites – the Regal Suite and Louis Suite – delivering treatments fit for a Queen!

Salon Spymet owner Lucy Goodwin, who also owns the Owl House Day Spa in nearby Leicestershire employing 65 staff between the two businesses and servicing 350 clients per week, to see what inspired her to create this stunning salon in the heart of the city centre…

The Champagne Bar at the Beauty Temple. What makes your salon unique?

“Our attention to detail. Our aim is to set a new standard in luxury. Booking a treatment with The Royal Service ensures the client’s experience with us is as luxurious as possible. Their treatment will be performed in one of our Royal Suites, with incredible heated beds and our signature scent on their pillow to make them feel like a true VIP!

“On the other hand, we wanted to create a social place to be with friends, so we introduced Nottingham’s first champagne nail bar which is the perfect spot for a girly catch up. Our Glitter Ball treatment includes a gentle gold scrub to your hands or feet followed by a soothing massage to both using glass crystal Omni balls finishing with our luxury gold products, leaving skin softened and gently fragranced with a beautiful shimmery glow.”

What is important to you when choosing a product range or piece of equipment to use in your salon?

How did you come to open the Beauty Temple?

“I rented a room below a hair salon for four years and built my little business up and then decided to open a salon of my own. This is where it all began. In February 2006 we opened Beauty Temple, and four years later opened the Owl House Day Spa.”

“We choose to work with luxury brands who offer training and support and the ability to have a great retail range.

“I love creating my own treatments and products as this allows me to take all my ideas and attention to detail into the treatment. We have just launched our own Owl House Day Spa products which we also use at the Beauty Temple. The range is body care at the moment and includes Candy Floss
