A £400,000 investment in new machinery by a Belper company that makes sealants has boosted production and secured jobs. Adshead Ratcliffe has bought


a mixer and another filling machine for its factory at Derby Road, which produces Arbo brand sealants. Operations Director Roger


Sheehan said: “This investment has secured jobs and given us a platform for future growth which we hope will include creating jobs.” The company has 70


employees and in the past financial year had turnover of more than £10m.


Five-star builder


Loughborough-based housebuilder William Davis Homes won the maximum five stars in the national new home customer satisfaction survey conducted by the National House Building Council (NHBC) for the Home Builders Federation (HBF). “To be named a five-star


housebuilder is hugely significant, not just in terms of our performance compared with the wider industry but mostly as it represents independent, positive feedback from our homeowners,” said Guy Higgins, Managing Director of William Davis.


Tourism conference


The Tourism Management Institute (TMI) has chosen Leicester to host its Creating a Bookable Destination conference later this month. It is one of the highest-profile


events in the tourism industry calendar. Up to 120 members are expected to attend. Leicester Shire Promotions


has worked with TMI conference organisers to bring the conference to Leicester. The event will take place at


Curve on 24 May.

A machine that revolutionised the handling of loads on construction sites and farms has passed a major milestone – the production of the 200,000th vehicle. The JCB Loadall telescopic handler was first made in 1977. Today, thousands of Loadalls roll off the production line every year and the business producing them employs around 800 people. Lord Bamford, JCB Chairman, said: “From very small beginnings, the


JCB Loadall has become a very important machine for JCB and for the construction and agricultural industries. “Revolutionary is often a word that is overused, but in the case of the Loadall it is a perfect description.”


Search for women in the industry


Ann Stanley, founder of Leicester- based digital marketing agency Annica Digital, has been shortlisted for a national award celebrating women in the search industry. She was named one of the top


50 women working in the search industry by Google as part of its Women in Search 2016 Awards. Ann said: “Women in Search

Forces to get kitted out


An engineering consultancy has furthered its support of the Reserve Forces by sponsoring training/running shirts for its local squadron. M-EC, which won a Defence ERS


Gold Award earlier this year, has previously worked alongside 203 (Loughborough) Transport Squadron to deliver an Army- themed activity day for staff. The Midlands-based practice, which employs Private
