Quick Response codes helping emergency responders
In past articles we have informed you about the fantastic services provided by Asociacion Amigos Europeos de Javea (AAEdJ).
Their immediate response Ambulances and Paramedics will reach you in the shortest time possible and speed you to the most appropriate hospital for your condition.
We have written about their onboard computers having your address details pre-stored; we have told you about how the ambulance contacts the hospital you are arriving at so that the medical team there are ready, aware and waiting to receive you, knowledgeable about your condition. Everything AAEdJ do is aimed at getting you the proper medical help you need in the shortest time. Think F.A.S.T.
The number of Female Focus readers who are now registered with AAEdJ has been fantastic. Good on you readers for choosing to become members – but really this is not that surprising at JUST €45 to cover a COMPLETE FAMILY FOR A WHOLE YEAR!
This month we are going to tell you about AAEdJ’s use of QR codes. A QR code (quick response code) is a type of 2D bar code that is used to provide easy and rapid access to information through a smartphone.
You’ll no doubt have seen QR codes in newspapers and on adverts. But these days QR codes are being used for more than just advertisements. A QR code can hold a great deal of information, and the team at AAEdJ are offering their clients QR coded key fobs which could help paramedics save lives in emergency situations.
AAEdJ input personal information about a person’s medications, medical history, allergies, next of kin, etc into the QR code which is printed and placed into the keyfob. In the event of an emergency, the emergency responders can scan the keyfob with their smartphone thus providing the paramedics with vital information they need during a medical response call.
“This could help so many people” says Laure Bolufer. “The client for the peace of mind, and the paramedic for information at the scene, it’s just a time-saving method of getting important information to the paramedic quickly”. What a great way to use digital technology to really improve our situation in a medical emergency.
Despite its name, Asociacion Amigos Europeos de Javea doesn’t just cover the Javea area, indeed far from it. From Benidorm to Oliva, and covering inland towns like Jalon, Parcent & Pego, the fl eet of Mobile Intensive Care ambulances offer the best chance of getting to you fi rst with their latest life saving equipment. For €45 for a whole year for the whole family plus 3€ for each QR fob you want, frankly it’s a ‘no-brainer’. The best €45 you may ever spend.
