a crowd! Several people were taking photos and asking for photos of them on or near the bikes. People were bringing their kids over. The scenery on St. Kitts was
fantastic, too. Police stopped intersections so we could ride together. It was apparent that large bikes were not common on the islands, especially in a pack of 26. As our “rolling thunder” entered villages and towns, people would stand on the curb watching. Teachers sent students out to the fence to watch. Businesses workers stood outside, cheering us on. We travelled into the hills to a
botanical gardens. The entry had a steep but short twisted hill. The gravel in the parking lot was deep and loose. We all shouted warnings, but as the Goldwing in our big group came to a stop, with a bit too much front brake, it started to tip. The driver pulled his knees to his chest, crossed his arms and did an amazing tuck and roll away from the bike, then back on his feet. It was obviously a well-practiced and now much-needed skill. At the same time, several riders ran to the Goldwing, putting it back upright and the kick stand down. Our ride took us to an amazing
beach in a cove area where we spent an hour and a half swimming and eating. The ocean was refreshing after a good ride. Our next stop was San Juan,
