customs for all the ports well in advance. Renting was out of the question. So we contacted Chester’s
Fort Lauderdale Harley Davidson. They sent a truck and brought the bike into their shop. The oil pump was done, all right. And the parts were not in Florida. All transport trucks were off the road due to snow storms north of Florida. Working in the dead of night
and all the next day, the service manager and mechanic worked small miracles getting a part through. No overtime or night fees charged. Great guys! Getting our bikes on board
was another matter. When we looked at that super cruise ship and the steep, narrow ramp, we felt a bit intimidated, to say the least. When all the bikes were on
(there was a total of 26 on this cruise), we strapped them down and headed for a cool drink with our wives. We were on our way to St Maarten. John and I were concerned
about the gas. The $325 we paid extra was to look after gas and other expenses. But how far away was it to the gas station to get the gas, especially when we were riding uphill and we weren’t allowed to have much gas in the tanks when the bikes were on the ship? But we made it and got the fuel we needed. We continued up and down the
hills of St Maarten to the beach bar. It was a beautiful ride with beautiful scenery. Cold drinks, burger and a swim, and we were ready to go again. Our last stop was at a
boardwalk shopping area on the ocean near the port. We lined the bikes up in the middle of the walkway. They certainly attracted
