OUTDOORS GUY
Get the heck out into the Great Outdoors!
Camping, fishing and gearing up for the JEFF MORRISON
next season are some of the fair-weather activities I enjoy most. Much of my summer is spent outdoors,
camping with Mrs. Outdoors Guy and our daughters in our little pop-up trailer, or fishing in the nearby lake. When we’re not roughing it, we spend
our weekends at our other trailer, a 32-foot Fifth Wheel in Cobden. I enjoy nothing more than tooling around the lake in search of the elusive largemouth or northern pike and just soaking in the warm summer air. As the famous Mungo Jerry song goes,
“When the weather’s fine, we go fishin’ or go swimmin’ in the sea. We’re always happy, life’s for livin’ yeah, that’s our philosophy!” So do yourself a favour this summer.
Do a little fishing, and do a little swimming and camping. Life is for livin’ in the Great Outdoors. That’s my philosophy, too!
River tourney kicks bass Once again, the Lefaivre Lions Club is
holding its annual Open Bass Tournament on the Ottawa River in Lefaivre on Saturday, June 28. With thousands in cash and prizes up for grabs, the town’s Open Bass Tournament has garnered the attention of anglers from
across the region and beyond. Back in 1993, the Lefaivre Lions
Club hosted its first Annual Open Bass Tournament. Here we are more than two decades later, and the event is bigger than anyone could ever imagine. Registration fee is $200 per boat (team of 2) plus $20 for the lunker pool. Many teams are already registered, so don’t delay in sending in your forms. Start numbers are determined by the order your registration is received. For more information, contact Jacques Lavoie: (613) 679-4261, or by email: jaclavoie@hotmail. com.
