Note the attractive ivory meandering palmette main border; the cluster of stars in each of the two lower corners of the border and a line of stars at the top left edge of the main border. 2095. Attractive Qashqa’i horse cover, Fars, south west Persia, about 1900, main panel 3ft. 9in. x 4ft. 8in. 1.14m. x 1.42m., the two small side panels each 1ft. 7in. x 1ft. 2in., 0.43m. x 0.35m. The red warp faced ground brocaded with amusing animals and peacocks below a trellised medallion panel; remains of tassels and loops to edges. Small holes; some repairs. Woven in three widths.
