2086. Fine Timuri Baluchi carpet, north west Afghanistan, Herat province, Kushk district, mid- late 19th century, 8ft. 10in. x 6ft. 3in. 2.69m. x 1.91m. Complete with wide striped kelim ends with extra brocade detailing. Overall wear; crease marks to lower end and to upper right side. The field colour is a most wonderful medium blue and the carpet is similar to that illustrated in Boucher, Jeff W. Baluchi Woven Treasures, pp. 140-141, pl.60. £400-600
