1721. Indian carpet, 20th century, 9ft. 6in. x 7ft. 3in. 2.90m. x 2.21m. Overall wear, heavy in places; with large hole to lower left side and ‘bites’ to lower right corner. Together with an almost matching rug, 20th century, 6ft. 8in. x 4ft. 7in. 2.03m. x 1.40m. Overall wear with crude repair centre. Note both pieces woven with a deep bottle green main border. 1724. Khamseh carpet, Fars, south west Persia, late 19th century, 9ft. 3in. x 5ft. 11in. 2.82m. x 1.80m. Note the unusual additional outer ’morghi’ band at one end. Overall wear, heavier in some places; slight loss to lower end. Together with an Afshar rug, Kerman area, south west Persia, late 19th/early 20th century, 7ft. 1in. x 5ft. 3in. 2.16m. x 1.60m. Overall wear; some holes and creases; losses to both ends. (2) £100-150

1722. European hexagonal carpet, 20th century, 9ft. 6in. x 7ft. 3in. 2.90m. x 2.21m. Note this carpet is knotted on a canvas ground, worked in two slightly unequal widths joined vertically down the length, the corners re-inforced verso. £100-200


1725. Heriz carpet, north west Persia, 1940-50s, 9ft. 2in. x 6ft. 11in. 2.80m. x 2.11m. Overall uneven wear, heavy in some places; losses to ends. £80-120

1728. North west Persian flatweave, representing a ‘stars and stripes’ flag woven in strips joined together, embroidered with 12 stars in one corner. 9ft. x 7ft. 4in. 2.75m. x 2.24m. Woven in natural, undyed wool. £100-200

1726. Attractive Kurdish carpet, north west Persia, early 20th century, 9ft. 2in. x 5ft. 1in. 2.80m. x 1.55m. Note the ivory field with filled with all over small polychrome boteh within a naïve stylized tree border. Overall wear, heavy in places. £100-200


1729. Ersari Turkmen carpet, north east Afghanistan, mid-20th century, 9ft. x 6ft. 10in. 2.75m. x 2.08m. Note inscription to inner guard top end of field. Slight wear and fading in places. £100-150
