1639. Group of five Chinese carpets and rugs and one Indian cotton pile carpet, all early-mid 20th century comprising: light burgundy red field carpet, 13ft. 11in. x 9ft. 11in. 4.25m. x 3.02m. Some wear and moth damage; walnut field carpet, 11ft. 1in. x 9ft. 3.38m. x 2.75m. heavy wear in places; kinks to sides and some moth damage; two small Chinese rugs; a Mongolian(?) rug and an Indian cotton pile carpet, green field woven with a Chinese design, 9ft. 7in. x 6ft. 6in. 2.92m. x 1.98m. Two matching European carpets, early 20th century, both with ‘ton-sur-ton’ design in shades of red, the largest 13ft. 8in. x 13ft. 2in. 4.17m. x 4.01m. and the smaller, 7ft. 8in. x 8ft. 2in. 2.34m. x 2.49m. The largest: overall uneven wear; ‘bites’ to lower end; small splits and small holes to top end. The smaller: overall uneven wear, heavier in places. (2) £100-200
